The Bahamas – one of the most beautiful places in the world, according to myself. I have been to Nassau many times on cruises, but I have never been for a full weekend trip (it’s on my bucket list, though!). I have so many things that I want to do in Nassau, but here are a few of my favorite things that I have done. If you are headed to Nassau, check out these things to do in The Bahamas:
Top Things To Do In The Bahamas
I went on the best food tour in Nassau at the beginning of this year and I had so much fun! Founded in 2012, Tru Bahamian Food Tours set out on a mission to offer the most unique and authentic culinary experiences in The Bahamas. They are professionally certified by Food Tour Pros, The International Culinary Tourism Association and World Food Travel Association, and The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism’s Bahama HOST Program. On top of this, the culinary experiences that they offer are safe, sustainable, and environmentally responsible. Our experience with Tru Bahamian Food Tours was amazing! We visited so many authentic food spots around The Bahamas and really felt like we got to know the culture and way of life in Nassau.
If you love to shop, you need to visit the straw market in downtown Nassau! It is only about a 3-5 minute walk from the cruise terminal, so it’s very convenient and we always have fun finding good deals on tourist items, such as Nassau T-shirts and other handcrafted items.
Visit A Resort
Last month, we visited The Ocean Club and it was the most peaceful and relaxing day. I cannot wait to go back for a longer stay because although we loved our time there, we did not get to see and do everything the resort had to offer. The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, is a peaceful retreat within driving distance to the busy city of Nassau, Bahamas. Nestled on 35 perfectly manicured acres and surrounded by white sand beaches, aqua-colored water, and relaxing pools, The Ocean Club sets the bar high for romantic and luxurious travel. I cannot wait to share my full post with you on The Ocean Club!
I did a snorkeling trip one of my first visits to Nassau when I was in high school. Although I had been a few times before that, I don’t really remember much before this trip. We took a catamaran out in the ocean and we were able to snorkel over a coral reef. Now, I choose to do more relaxing (and romantic) things like spending my day at The Ocean Club, but if you are looking for an adventure, this could be a great option for you!
No matter what you do in The Bahamas, you will have a great trip – it is so beautiful!
