PTL – we made it through the heat of the summer! To be completely honest with you, I look forward to summer and absolutely love it…until the end. There are about 2-3 (sometimes 4) weeks in Georgia where it feels endlessly hot and wet outside. Those few weeks are my worst enemy, but we’ve made it through and thankfully, my favorite season is here. I love fall. And my guess is that you do, too!
Because I love it so much, every single year, I do my very best to appreciate every second of fall I can.

There are a couple of ways that I’m doing this:
– Slowing down more often so that I can be more mindful and appreciative of this fall
&
– Adding in some fall self-care ideas and fun every single day (when possible).
Self-care, in general, is something that I’ll forever be learning, especially as a mom, but I’ve gotten much better at taking care of myself lately, and I want this to continue this fall and for years to come…hence my list of 15 self-care ideas for fall fun!
If you struggle with making time or feeling worthy of self-care, you’re not alone. I’m right there with you! I truly believe that self-care should be a lifestyle and not just something that we do every once in a while. I’ve found that consistent self-care has helped me enjoy my life more and avoid burnout as a mom and as an individual. Plus, when I take care of myself, it allows me to fill my cup up so that I can pour from it. It not only benefits myself, but those around me, as well.
If you haven’t started out on your self-care journey yet, or if you are looking for more ways to add more self-care into your day-to-day life, start now.
Start with these 15 self-care ideas for fall fun

15 self-care ideas for fall:
-Make a list of your favorite fall eats and find better-for-you recipes!
-Take 10+ minutes each day to curl up with a blanket, a hot tea or coffee, and a book on your back porch. Soak in that cool morning (or night) air!
-Diffuse fall oils blends or clean candles. Keyword: clean. My favorites are the Primally Pure fall oil line (Code: ALEX10 to save 10% off), Welch Candle Co. for unscented beeswax candles (they smell like honey!), and Natural Sloth for beeswax candles with essential oils (these smell SO good and they are very clean).
-Have kids? Go on a nature walk and collect pretty leaves. Then string them up and create a “banner” to hang above a window.
-Write out a list of what you are thankful for. Thinking about the things you are grateful for is great, but writing it all out is even more beneficial.
-Get your fireplace cleaned…and then use it! There’s nothing better than a fire in the fall and winter months.
-Travel to a fun fall town. We were looking into a few places in N GA, NC, and SC and finally settled on Asheville again to introduce Avery to one of our favorite places – Omni Grove Park Inn!
-Meditate outside with a blanket and hot beverage. Meditation is one of the best things that you can do to lower your stress. While it’s not always for me, if you feel the same, try a yoga class instead.
-Open the windows! My FAVORITE thing to do during the fall, for sure. Opening the windows not only feels nice, but it’s really good for the air quality in your home. It has been found that indoor air quality is typically worse than outdoor air quality a lot of the time due to toxins from artificial fragrances and more.
-Decorate your home for fall. I typically skip over this one, but I know SO many people have fun with this! I love bringing out the non-toxic candles (I guess this is my way of decorating), though, and it makes my home feel so homey.
-Visit a pumpkin patch. I cannot wait to do this with Avery! When we walk around the block now, she screams, “PUMPKINS!” anytime there is a pumpkin on a porch. She’s going to have a blast
-Go apple picking. N GA is home to a ton of apple farms. Head that way and enjoy!
-Bake apple pies or make homemade applesauce. Once you go apple picking, head home and make a tasty apple pie, or some homemade applesauce. My grandma taught me how to make her homemade applesauce a few years back and I’ve never tasted better.
-Support local farmers. A lot of farmers markets tend to close down after the cool fall months, so make sure you’re supporting local farmers while you have a chance! If you are in the area, Marietta Farmers Market is year-round, just so you know! I think it’s the best in the area, too.
-Revamp your night routine. The changing weather might be affecting your skin. If so, consider changing up your night routine. You can find my skincare routine here. A few of my favorite fall items would be the oil cleanser and the everything spray. Also, the dew skin and the tetrapeptide cream if you need some moisture. If your skin is feeling dry, I would also consider upping your water intake, adding collagen into your diet, and using a dry brush to get rid of dead skin.

While these are only two 15 self-care ideas for fall, there are SO many other ways to enjoy these cool weeks (hopefully months!) ahead of us. I hope you are as excited as I am!
