Do you know those bad days that seem like they will never end? Let me tell you a little secret: if you have these days, you need to step in and do something about it. Now, I’m not saying that it’s wrong to have those days. Trust me – I have them! But, when I do, I actively work to turn my day around because even when you are having the worst day ever, there is *SOME* sort of goodness in it. You just have to find it.
When I have a bad day, I search for that goodness and I do a few other things to turn my mood around. Here are a few things I do to turn a bad day around:
Go outside
There is a lot of research that shows the benefits of the sun. For mental and physical health. Go outside, be a kid, and you’ll get rewarded, both mentally and physically. I mean, just look at this study that found an association between decreased exposure to sunlight and increased probability of cognitive impairment using a novel data source. Research proves that the sun (and nature) is good for the body, mind, and soul.

Workout
Another way to boost endorphin levels? Workout! Walk, lift weights, sweat, do yoga. Do whatever you need to do in order to get a good workout in. Research shows that moving your body DOES increase feelings of happiness and satisfaction in your life. With that being said, when you don’t feel so great and when you are down in the dumps, a workout can significantly improve things for you.

Find the good
Focusing on the bad? It is easy to do. Sometimes, when you have a bad day, it leads to you hyper-focusing on the bad. But, what if you shifted your mindset and tried to find the good? Even if it’s just a little sliver? I know I talked a little bit about this in the first paragraph, but finding the good in every situation is essential.
Fuel your body
Food is LIFE. When I’m in a bad mood, eating a nourishing meal or drinking a comforting drink (like my adrenal repair drink) is life-changing. Seriously. I’m not sure what it is, but it helps a lot mentally!
Practice self-care
Last but not least, practice self-care when you can. Do something for yourself. Take a shower, do your hair, put on some clothes that make you feel great, go get a massage. Whatever you need to (and can do), focus on it and go for it!
These are just a few things that I do when I’m having a bad day and these things REALLY help me turn my day around. What do you do?
