You know, I’m really not a whiskey fan at all. I typically dislike it so much that I didn’t even want to try this recipe at first, but my dad made it one day & I was forever changed! I guess the sugar, lemons & limes mask the whiskey flavor enough for me to really like it. I actually liked it so much that I tried to order a whiskey sour at a bar a few days later… Pro Tip: What they serve at the bar is nothing like this recipe. Don’t do it! Anyway, you won’t find a better whiskey sour recipe out there. Try this & let me know how you like it! 🙂
Whiskey Sour Recipe
Makes 4 drinks
1 cup Whiskey
1/2 cup Fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup Fresh lime juice
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
Cherries to taste
Step 1: Make your simple syrup by putting your sugar and water in a pan on the stove. Heat & stir until thoroughly mixed. When the sugar is completely dissolved, you’ve made simple syrup! Put this mixture into the freezer to cool completely.
Step 2: While your simple syrup is cooling, juice/squeeze your lemons and limes. Add your lemon juice, lime juice, and whiskey together. When your simple syrup is cool, mix that in with everything, as well.
Step 3: Put the mixture in a shaker with ice and shake to cool.
Step 4: Pour through a stranger over ice.
Step 5: Add your cherries and serve!
