The week leading up to our wedding was absolutely insane. It was pretty much the only week that we had a real threat of snow the entire winter!!! How ironic, huh? Fortunately, all of the snow missed us until the day of our rehearsal so our wedding items being delivered all got to us on time.
February 25, 2015 the snow started coming down in Midtown. My sister Katie, and my friends Lesley and Jenna were with me getting our nails done before heading to our hotel when it all happened, and everything in Atlanta completely stopped. It took us AN HOUR to get from the street outside of the hotel to the front of the hotel to unload our luggage.
Once we finally got inside the hotel, we checked into our rooms. I originally had two rooms booked that attached to one another so that we would all be together. While checking in, we found out that someone completely messed up the attached room, and we only had the suite and another room down the hall. When things start messing up on your wedding week, or anytime in general, just breathe. Everything happens for a reason and it all works out in the end! We finally got to our two rooms, when I got the call that our rehearsal was cancelled because the roads were getting bad. Breathe. THEN, we got a call from our amazing driver saying; “Are you getting nervous yet?” Breathe. The snow came down harder and harder while we called some of our family and friends telling them that they did not have to attend the rehearsal. One of my bridesmaids and close friends, Halley was coming in on a Greyhound because she couldn’t get out of North Carolina in her car! That is how bad the storm was. SO thankful for amazing friends.
Our hotel, The W-Atlanta was superb. They opened a space up to our group to throw a “rehearsal.” They even gave us a ton of champagne, and appetizers! Totally recommend them. We didn’t have everyone there, but it really helped us get people together and get a bit done and relax a little bit.
After that, we braced the weather and headed our to our rehearsal dinner spot: Eclipse Di Luna! I was blown away with their staff. They stayed there even though the roads were bad just so we could have our dinner. So, so thankful. We had an amazing slide show of pictures of us, a great dinner, drinks, and so much fun. Plus, everyone made the dinner (YAY!) and we got back to our houses/hotel rooms safe and sound. The perfect end to an extremely stressful day.
I don’t have many pictures from this day, and night because of how hectic everything was, but here are a few!

Remember, when things don’t go your way, just breathe. Everything works out in the end, and we have so many things to be thankful for. I wish I could have soaked in all of the positives of the day instead of being consumed by the negative, but it was definitely an experience I learned from, and I will never forget it! <3
I will end this LONG post on a few highlights from that day that I’m so thankful for:
- Manicures and pedicures
- Chick fil a
- Supportive family and friends
- Amazing vendors
- Vitamin B-12 shots
- Friends that know how to tie bows (haha!)
- SAFE ROADS!!!!!!
