Southern hospitality paired with creative, fresh cuisine are the stars of the show at this famed brunch spot in Atlanta, Georgia. Joy Cafe sits in the heart of Midtown and is only a short four miles from Piedmont Park, making it a convenient place to stop and get breakfast or brunch.
Joy Cafe is included in Yelp’s Top Places To Eat In Metro Atlanta and it is also featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, so I had very high expectations for the Atlanta restaurant and it did not even come close to disappointing. In fact, it may be my new favorite brunch spot in all of the ATL.

After putting our name on the waiting list, we made our way over to the Italianate coffee bar. If you are not familiar with the Italian way of ordering coffee, you basically order, pay, and drink it at the bar. It’s pretty self-explanatory here because everyone speaks English (obviously), but it can get a bit confusing if it is your first time in Italy! #TheMoreYouKnow
After our short wait, we were seated at our table. Although the restaurant is small, I did not feel crowded at all while seated. Our waiter brought us food and drink menus and we quickly knew that we had to try the flight of mimosas.
Our food choices were harder to make because everything sounded amazing! But, I judge a breakfast place on their Eggs Benedict, so it was an easyish choice for me, even though I wanted everything. Lesley ordered their breakfast burrito, Alex ordered their Salmon Eggs Benedict, and Ian ordered the biscuits and gravy. Like we needed more food, our waiter was kind enough to bring us some muffins to taste.
EGGS BENNIE: I’ve tried many good eggs benedict over the years, but this one stood out above the rest. SO GOOD. I would highly recommend first time Joy Cafe visitors to try this dish!
SALMON EGGS BENEDICT: Alex said that this dish had good flavor and that the Salmon was pulled and cooked really well.
BREAKFAST BURRITO: I tried their burrito and it was really good! Lesley liked it, as well. I would definitely get this dish if I went back!
BISCUITS & GRAVY: You know, this wasn’t my favorite. It was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, so I thought it would blow me away, but it didn’t. Maybe it was because I had so many other amazing dishes? But, I will say that their eggs are blissful. They were cooked perfectly and rivaled, if not beat the amazing eggs that I had at The Factory Cafe that I keep raving about. When we go back, I am 100% getting a side of scrambled eggs!
MIMOSA FLIGHT: I really liked the flight! There were some unique options on there, so if you aren’t too adventurous, I would maybe stick with the normal mimosas, but I like adventurous eats (and drinks), so it was definitely up my alley and I loved having the variety. Plus, can you ever have too many mimosas?
