Favorite Flavors of Ireland, written by Margaret M. Johnson was an amazing St. Patrick’s Day find. As soon as I opened the book, I was immediately drawn to it when reading that the book is dedicated to her husband. The cookbook is filled with gorgeous, warm pictures that make you want to try each meal as you are reading through the chapters, and it is very well written, and easy to read.
Favorite Flavors of Ireland is split up into four chapters. After the introduction and a note about the recipes, you have all of the chapters: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. I love the way the chapters are split up because I like to cook with a lot of seasonal produce, so having recipes split up into different seasons make it extremely convenient. I can just bookmark a certain season!
All of the recipes look amazing as you can see above, but there are a few particular ones that stick out to me. I am dying to make the Sauteed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon, Bramley Apple Cake with Toffee Sauce, Braised Lamb Shanks, and Grilled Oysters with Black Bacon and Watercress. There are so many amazing recipes! I 100% recommend this cookbook to any home chef looking to expand their cookbook selection. Thank you so much to Ambassador International for sending me the book to review!
